Trento, 4th September 2016

A training lasted about two hours, divided between weigths and technique at the Palasport of Borgo Valsugana and the following lunch at the Grand Hotel Imperial Levico Terme (the structure that these days hosted the team and the staff) in the presence of management, partners and local authorities, concluded in the best possible way the mini-reatreat of Diatec Trentino in Valsugana.
During an entire weekend, between Friday 2nd and Sunday 4th of September, one of the most beautiful and famous valleys of the province of Trento has become a real meeting point for volleyball, hosting the gym activities of Trentino Volley and gathering, at the same time, hundreds of curious fans, who really wanted to see the trainings of the new almost complete team (the only missing was Simon Van de Voorde, who was busy with the Belgian National).
Among the most anticipated players by supporters and teenagers, were the four Italian athletes who won the silver medal in Rio 2016; Oleg Antonov, Massimo Colaci, Simone Giannelli and Filippo Lanza didn't say not to the embrace of the many enthusiastic fans, fulfilling all requests for selfies and autographs at the end of each of the three training session held in Borgo Valsugana. “I’m satisfied because during these three days we succeeded in achieving the goals that had brought me to ask the Club to organize a training-weekend away from our usual home, the PalaTrento – explained trainer Angelo Lorenzetti -. It was important for all of us to live such a weekend in order to make plans and mark the beginning of a new period for Trentino Volley. We made the most of every single moment we had not only with our trainings but also talking and telling us what expectations we have for the new season. On my behalf and on behalf of the team, I would like to thank the Apt of the Valsugana and the whole valley for the great welcome and hospitality. We’ve trained in the excellent facility of Borgo Valsugana, the Palazzetto dello Sport, and we’ve seen the great enthusiasm of the supporters for the Diatec Trentino.  The 5 players, who competed in the Olympic Games in Rio 2016, got back into the group very positively: some of them still have to work separately in order to get as in shape as their team-mates, but I’m confident to have everyone at my disposal to the same level within 10 days”.
After the day off scheduled for Monday, the team will start the fifth week or preparation on Tuesday morning at PalaTrento. First official test match will take place later this week versus Lpr Piacenza, the two teams will take the field at 6pm on Wednesday 7th September.
